As "The Rise of Sneaker Culture" celebrated the pop culture significance of iconic kicks, we headed to the Brooklyn Museum to document the footwear extravaganza on display. The exhibition, which includes over 150 pairs of vintage sneakers from the likes of Nike, adidas, Vans, Converse and Jordan Brand, featured contributions from famed sneakerheads and contextualized the advertising campaigns, technical innovations and pop culture references that elevated these objects' from practical footwear to icons at the forefront of pop culture.
The exhibit runs until October 4, 2015; head to the Brooklyn Museum's website for more information.
