Editor’s Notes: Japanese artist and designer Taka Hayashi teamed up with Vans at the end of last year on a pack of premium skate footwear options. The capsule comprises a Slip-On LX and three Sk8-Hi LX.

The pack highlights are the two checkerboard-clad styles, which Hayashi has expertly reworked. Instead of the customary printed checkerboard, the designer has woven black and white fabric together to achieve the same visual effect.

The other styles feature tonal uppers and exposed stitching that comes out of the heel disc to create a “rising sun” effect.

All four styles are still available online at Feature, so check out the kicks in detail above and, if you’re feeling them, don’t sleep on this pack again.
