Editor’s Notes: The Vans Style 73 DX is the latest silhouette to join the California skate brand’s Anaheim Factory collection. The reissue program borrows details from original models produced in the brand’s early years and updates them with modern technology such as Ultracush sock liners.
In 1966, brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren started the Van Doren Rubber Company, which would later become the Vans we know and love today. Back then, the brothers produced and sold their sneakers out of their factory in Anaheim, California. On the first day of operations, 12 customers purchased shoes, which were made ready for pickup later that afternoon.
Putting emphasis on authenticity, Vans has used the original style numbering system and color palettes, reissued prints, added higher-glossed foxing tape, cotton laces, and the original drill lining weight to complete the vintage aesthetic.
The Anaheim Factory Style 73 DX are now available for $80 in three colorways: black, red, and light blue.
