Our 'Sneaker Rotation' series marches on with the help of e-tailer Small Feet Big Kicks' Jess Gavigan.
Next up in our Sneaker Rotation series is Jess Gavigan, a long-term sneakerhead and the founder of online store Small Feet Big Kicks, which specializes in sourcing rare trainers in smaller sizes. In addition to her online shop, Gavigan works as a blogger and visual merchandiser in London, and is never seen without a colorful pair of kicks. A fan of bold '80s and '90s shapes and colorways, Gavigan’s sneaker rotation is almost all Nike, with the exception of Reebok and Sandro's collaborative Insta Pump Fury.
Check out her full lineup below alongside a few words about why each pair has made it into her current rotation.
I have never been a real fan of Reebok to be honest. I've always been #teamswoosh but when I saw these I fell in love. I've always thought the Insta Pump Fury was such an interesting shoe, so I was so excited when I saw such a feminine colorway! I'm obsessed with anything with a speckle sole, so I had to grab these.
2. Nike Air Max 95 "Vivid Grape"
I love the AM95, they remind me of being at school. I'm not a pink kind of girl, but I'm all over a one-color shoe. It makes them stand out from the crowd. I love wearing them.
3. Nike Air Max 97 "Valentine"
The 97 to me is such an underrated shoe and again hard to find in good colors in small sizes. I managed to find these deadstock for £30. They're so pretty as they're part of the "Valentine" pack from 2000. The polka dots make them super cute and girly and they're reflective too!
4. Air Jordan 6 "Oreo"
I am an Air Max girl through and through, and over the years I've owned lots of Jordans and sold them again, but this is one pair I've always held on to. It is so simple with the monochrome color palette and speckle sole. These were another bargain pair I picked up deadstock. I'm not usually one for a high-top but there's something about these that makes them the exception to the rule.
5. Nike Free Inneva Woven
I picked these up from Sneakerness Amsterdam at the beginning of this year. Again to find this shoe in small sizes and for a good price is like gold dust, so when I found these it was like I'd won the lottery! I love going to sneaker events, but I rarely leave with anything because it's hard enough to find something that fits.
6. Nike Air Max 90 "Infrared"
Everyone who likes and knows about air max knows about the "Infrared." Although mine are a little bit worn and torn now, they're still one of my faves. This shoe has been retro'd a couple of times, so it's nice to have an OG pair from 2000.
I love these because they're from the old style of AM 90 - the lining is so cushioned and thick it's like walking with pillows on your feet.
7. Nike Air Max 1 "Safari"
I love these because I love animal prints. I managed to collect quite a few colors from the "Safari" pack but these are by far my favorite - because they're monochrome and easy to wear!
