Head of sneaker design at Versace, Salehe Bembury, just teased what looks like a new Versace sneaker on his Instagram. The sneaker in question bears a striking resemblance to the famous and incredibly rare Apple sneaker, which was produced exclusively for Apple employees in the ’90s.

Versace’s version, which has yet to be confirmed as an official design and could just be a one-off custom, features a white leather upper with the Versace logo in rainbow colors on the side, which is a nod to the similarly-colored Apple logo on the original.

The original Apple sneaker this Versace design is clearly modeled after were reportedly manufactured by adidas. Available in severely limited quantities, the mysterious footwear has rarely been photographed over the years. A pair of the kicks was recently auctioned off on eBay, with no one biting at the $15,000 asking price.

In recent years, old-school Apple gear has been known to fetch eye-watering sums. Memorably, Drake reignited streetwear’s interest in the wares when he rocked a vintage Apple jacket at WWDC back in 2015.

Check out the sneakers above and leave your thoughts on whether you’d cop a Versace “Apple” sneaker in the comments.
