[UPDATE] September 26, 2017 10.15 a.m. EST : Salehe Bembury has been confirmed as Versace’s new Head of Sneaker Design, according to The Telegraph and Bembury’s own LinkedIn profile.

Former YEEZY designer Salehe Bembury is rumored to be Versace’s new Head of Sneaker Design. The news comes just a week after rumors began circulating that Versace was considering Louis Vuitton’s Kim Jones for the role of Creative Director.

Bembury started out as part of Cole Haan’s “Innovation” team where he created the brand’s LunarGrand silhouette, before being poached by YEEZY to work on the brand’s Season 3 and Season 4 projects. If the news is true, it’s perhaps a sign that Versace is looking to hire people with an authentic background in streetwear, which spells great things for the #culture. (Might that Virgil rumor have an element of truth in it, too?)

We reached out to Versace for confirmation of the news, but the company declined to comment. We’ll update this post as new information becomes available.

In other sneaker news, Palace is bringing back adidas’s “O’Reardon” sneaker.
